Awaken

This is your life ending one minute at a time.

Sleep governing the amount of waking hours you can enjoy.
Those waking hours are taken up by menial tasks.
Only a few to dedicate to what you enjoy most in this life, and that’s saying you have the means of enjoying that particular something. In that case you are left with a longing, it wells itself in your stomach and in your dreams it is played out as if a coin was dropped into a fountain like you received what you wished for. 

This whole idea of wishful thinking is an ignorant statement like another statement I know of that I despise equally, “ignorance is bliss” I mean what kind of bullshit is that? Is it a tool used in the collective zombie machine to tighten the gears that we have become, enabling us to accept our fates more willingly. I have yet to feel complacency. I feel as if the society we live in today has pretty much accepted that complacent lifestyle, staying in their houses, watching their t.v., playing their video games. It is a quiet death, all the same screaming, LEAVE ME ALONE. It is like static in your vision, the sound of it in you ear, making the urge to rip out your mind and pummel it into the ground and let it mix into the dirt more powerful than ever.

What I am trying to express is my anger with the fact that our surroundings are going to ruin our last journey as human beings, it is going to destroy the dream state. As humans we catalog every single thing we hear, see, feel, smell, taste into our brain’s files, it is in there somewhere even if you don’t remember it. I don’t want to die and have to live out the same thing over and over again. For example, I had a dream I was on facebook, and I wouldn’t have been able to tell I was dreaming if it weren’t for the fact that I tried turning off my computer. It wouldn’t, after that I was aware of the lucid dream I was taking part in. I grew angry at the fact that I was dreaming about something…it reminded me of a scene in one of my favorite movies where the character says “I had a friend once who told me…
              that the worst mistake that you could make…
              is to think that you are alive…
              when really you’re asleep in life’s waiting room.
              The trick is to combine…
              your waking rational abilities…
              with the infinite possibilities of your dreams.
              ‘Cause if you can do that, you can do anything.
              Did you ever have a job that you hated and worked real hard at?
              A long, hard day of work. Finally you get to go home, get in bed, close your eyes.
              And immediately you wake up and realize…

              It’s bad enough that you sell your waking life for— for minimum wage,
              but now they get your dreams for free.”
I felt exactly that when I woke up this morning and I was pretty upset for a while but I let it roll off my back like water on a duck….So this rant is over with, and I didn’t proof read it before publishing it so for all you grammar nazi’s I hope it doesn’t affect what you think about these thoughts of mine.
